Anxiety
Anxiety is frequently a reaction to stress or a stressful event that activates our fight or flight response. It becomes a concern if it perpetuates and is excessive.
Severe anxiety is experienced emotionally, behaviourally and physically. It’s accompanied by a physical sense of uneasiness, irritability, muscle tension, fatigue or even headaches.
Anxiety & The Brain
Empirical evidence supports the efficacy of Optimax’s mind-body approach to reducing anxiety.
One research study1 found decreased self-report of anxiety six weeks post-treatment after receiving training to enhance alpha activity, a brainwave associated with a calm, open awareness state or reducing frontal/ forehead tension via biofeedback.
Another study2 found that at least five hours of alpha enhancement training yielded positive results for a group that had high-anxiety.
